Whether you’re looking for a quiet space to work, a gourmet meal, or just a peaceful moment to recharge before your flight, the Centurion Lounge provides a world-class experience.
On a recent trip out of Las Vegas, my wife, a friend, and I had the opportunity to visit the Centurion Lounge. My wife is an Authorized User on my Amex Platinum card and we got her friend into the lounge by paying a $50 admission fee since her friend didn’t have an Amex Platty. From enjoying the extensive amenities to a surprising celebrity encounter, our visit was both relaxing and unforgettable. Here, I’ll share our detailed experience, outline the various amenities offered by the lounge, and explain the benefits of Amex Platinum cardholder lounge access.
One of the greatest perks of holding the American Express Platinum Card is access to the Centurion Lounge Network. As Platinum cardholders, my wife, Jaclyn, and I are eligible to enter these lounges as long as we have a same-day boarding pass for a departing flight.
Since Jaclyn is an authorized user on my Amex Platinum account, she also enjoys the full range of benefits that come with the card, including lounge access. This was especially convenient during our trip, as we both could enjoy the amenities without needing separate memberships. Upon entering the lounge, we simply presented our Platinum cards and boarding passes, and we were welcomed inside without delay. Amex Platinum cardholders can enter Centurion Lounges at participating airports worldwide. You can bring up to two guests for free if you spend at least $75k on your card per caledar year. Since Jaclyn and I don’t use that kind of spend on our Platty, we opted to have her added as an authorized user. We did also utilize the $50 guest fee option as I pointed out earlier in the article to get her friend into the lounge with us too. The annual authorized user cost on the Amex Platinum is $195. So long as we use Centurion Lounges at least 4 times each year, we’ve easily recouped the cost of Jaclyn, being an AU. Not to mention all the other perks the authorized user gets in addition to lounge access.
In addition to the Centurion Lounge network, Platinum cardholders also receive Priority Pass Select membership, granting access to over 1,200 lounges globally. This ensures that no matter where you are flying, you’ll have a comfortable space to relax before your flight.
If you’re flying Delta, Amex Platinum cardholders can also access Delta SkyClubs when traveling on a same-day Delta-operated flight. The Delta lounges offer a similar experience, though Centurion Lounges are generally considered more exclusive.

There’s a designated family room where children can play and relax, allowing parents to unwind without worrying about disturbing other guests. During our visit, we saw several families making use of this space, and it’s an excellent feature for parents traveling with young children.
The lounge also offers luxury shower suites, which are perfect for freshening up after a long flight or preparing for a meeting. While we didn’t personally use the showers, other travelers we spoke to mentioned that the showers were spacious, clean, and well-appointed with premium toiletries.

While enjoying a drink at our table, we noticed a familiar face among the lounge guests. Upon closer inspection, we realized it was one of the members of the popular ’90s band Savage Garden!
