Introduction
Amidst the bustling energy of Harry Reid International Airport (formerly McCarran International Airport), the Las Vegas Amex Centurion Lounge stands as a tranquil oasis, offering an exclusive experience for eligible travelers. Whether you’re looking for a quiet space to work, a gourmet meal, or just a peaceful moment to recharge before your flight, the Centurion Lounge provides a world-class experience.
On a recent trip out of Las Vegas, my wife, a friend, and I had the opportunity to visit the Centurion Lounge. My wife is an Authorized User on my Amex Platinum card and we got her friend into the lounge by paying a $50 admission fee since her friend didn’t have an Amex Platty. From enjoying the extensive amenities to a surprising celebrity encounter, our visit was both relaxing and unforgettable. Here, I’ll share our detailed experience, outline the various amenities offered by the lounge, and explain the benefits of Amex Platinum cardholder lounge access.
Accessing the Lounge Through Amex Platinum
One of the greatest perks of holding the American Express Platinum Card is access to the Centurion Lounge Network. As Platinum cardholders, my wife, Jaclyn, and I are eligible to enter these lounges as long as we have a same-day boarding pass for a departing flight.
Since Jaclyn is an authorized user on my Amex Platinum account, she also enjoys the full range of benefits that come with the card, including lounge access. This was especially convenient during our trip, as we both could enjoy the amenities without needing separate memberships. Upon entering the lounge, we simply presented our Platinum cards and boarding passes, and we were welcomed inside without delay. If you’re a frequent traveler, this access alone adds incredible value to the Platinum card, saving time, providing a more comfortable pre-flight experience, and eliminating the need to find a quiet spot in the crowded terminals.
For those unfamiliar with this benefit, here’s a breakdown of what the Amex Platinum Lounge Access Perk includes:
1. Centurion Lounge Access
Amex Platinum cardholders can enter Centurion Lounges at participating airports worldwide. You can bring up to two guests for free if you spend at least $75k on your card per caledar year. Since Jaclyn and I don’t use that kind of spend on our Platty, we opted to have her added as an authorized user. We did also utilize the $50 guest fee option as I pointed out earlier in the article to get her friend into the lounge with us too. The annual authorized user cost on the Amex Platinum is $195. So long as we use Centurion Lounges at least 4 times each year, we’ve easily recouped the cost of Jaclyn, being an AU. Not to mention all the other perks the authorized user gets in addition to lounge access.
2. Priority Pass Select
In addition to the Centurion Lounge network, Platinum cardholders also receive Priority Pass Select membership, granting access to over 1,200 lounges globally. This ensures that no matter where you are flying, you’ll have a comfortable space to relax before your flight.
3. Delta SkyClub Access
If you’re flying Delta, Amex Platinum cardholders can also access Delta SkyClubs when traveling on a same-day Delta-operated flight. The Delta lounges offer a similar experience, though Centurion Lounges are generally considered more exclusive.
This perk is especially valuable for frequent travelers like us, and since we’re Las Vegas locals, it makes all the difference in starting our vacations off on a luxurious note when flying out.

The Las Vegas Amex Centurion Lounge Amenities: A Detailed Overview
Walking into the Las Vegas Amex Centurion Lounge, you’re immediately transported into a space of calm, sophistication, and luxury. The lounge spans a large area and is thoughtfully designed to meet the diverse needs of travelers, offering everything from high-end cuisine to quiet workspaces and spa treatments. Here’s an in-depth look at the various amenities and features available at the Las Vegas Centurion Lounge.
1. Gourmet Dining and Open Bar
One of the standout features of the Centurion Lounge is its gourmet dining options. While most airport lounges offer basic snacks and beverages, the Centurion Lounge takes it several steps further by offering a buffet of chef-curated dishes. The menu changes seasonally, but during our visit, we enjoyed a range of fresh, high-quality dishes, including:
- Grilled chicken with a citrus glaze
- Roasted vegetables
- Creamy pasta dishes
- Fresh salads with locally sourced ingredients
For those seeking a lighter bite, the lounge also has an impressive selection of finger foods, including sandwiches, fruits, and desserts. Everything was fresh, and the flavors far surpassed typical airport lounge fare.
The lounge also features a fully stocked bar with an extensive selection of wines, craft beers, and premium spirits. We particularly enjoyed the signature cocktails, which were expertly crafted by the on-site bartenders. Whether you want to relax with a glass of wine or celebrate with a cocktail, the open bar adds a touch of luxury that sets the Centurion Lounge apart from others.
2. Complimentary Spa Services
One of the unique amenities of the Las Vegas Centurion Lounge is its offering of complimentary spa treatments. Appointments are required due to the popularity of the service. The lounge also offers a variety of quick spa services, including chair massages and rejuvenating skin treatments.
3. High-Speed Wi-Fi and Workspaces
For business travelers or those who need to stay connected, the Centurion Lounge provides high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the space, along with dedicated workstations. The workspaces are equipped with comfortable seating, plenty of outlets, and privacy partitions, making them ideal for catching up on emails or making last-minute calls before boarding.
I found the workspaces to be an excellent addition, as they provided a quiet area where I could comfortably catch up on some tasks. Despite the lounge being busy, the layout is designed so that you can find a peaceful corner without feeling overcrowded.
4. Family-Friendly Amenities
While the Centurion Lounge caters to business travelers and those seeking luxury, it’s also family-friendly. There’s a designated family room where children can play and relax, allowing parents to unwind without worrying about disturbing other guests. During our visit, we saw several families making use of this space, and it’s an excellent feature for parents traveling with young children.
5. Shower Suites
The lounge also offers luxury shower suites, which are perfect for freshening up after a long flight or preparing for a meeting. While we didn’t personally use the showers, other travelers we spoke to mentioned that the showers were spacious, clean, and well-appointed with premium toiletries.
Celebrity Sighting: A Surprising Encounter in the Lounge
One of the most exciting—and unexpected—moments during our visit to the Las Vegas Amex Centurion Lounge was spotting a celebrity. While enjoying a drink at our table, we noticed a familiar face among the lounge guests. Upon closer inspection, we realized it was one of the members of the popular ’90s band Savage Garden!
Being Las Vegas, a hotspot for entertainment and celebrity appearances, it wasn’t entirely surprising to have such an encounter, but it definitely added a special touch to our lounge experience. The relaxed atmosphere of the lounge makes it a popular choice for high-profile travelers seeking a private and serene space before their flights.
The staff was discreet and respectful of the celebrity’s privacy, which is another testament to the lounge’s commitment to creating a comfortable environment for all its guests. For fans of pop culture and music, this is just one of those moments that makes the Centurion Lounge in Las Vegas feel like a place where anything can happen.

Why the Las Vegas Centurion Lounge Stands Out
I can confidently say that the Las Vegas Centurion Lounge stands out for its unique blend of luxury, comfort, and entertainment. The atmosphere is both relaxed and sophisticated, and the diverse range of amenities caters to every kind of traveler, whether you’re seeking a quiet place to work, a fine dining experience, or a moment of pampering before a long flight.
The design of the lounge is contemporary and welcoming, with large windows allowing plenty of natural light to filter in, which enhances the overall experience. Whether you’re traveling solo or with family, this lounge provides a truly elevated airport experience.
The Value of Amex Platinum Lounge Access
For anyone holding an Amex Platinum Card, the lounge access perk is one of the most valuable benefits offered. It transforms the often stressful experience of navigating busy airports into a relaxing and enjoyable one. Whether it’s catching a nap in a comfortable chair, enjoying a gourmet meal, or unwinding with a drink at the bar, having access to the Centurion Lounge network makes a significant difference in how you experience air travel.
The Las Vegas Amex Centurion Lounge is one of the flagship locations, and it truly embodies the luxury and convenience that American Express strives to provide to its cardholders.
